On September 17, 2021, the launch ceremony of Boston Scientific’s second mobile education and training bus, “Tongxing,” developed with the support of HTDK, was held at Boston Scientific’s Shanghai headquarters. The event was attended by the President of Boston Scientific Greater China, senior executives, and HTDK’s CEO, who gathered to witness this exciting moment and fuel the start of “Tongxing.”
In 2020, when the first mobile education and training bus project was launched, HTDK collaborated closely with Boston Scientific’s professional education brand, EDUCARE, with the mission of enhancing the accessibility of global innovative healthcare products in China. Leveraging years of expertise in the medical device field, HTDK customized the bus into a mobile training facility equipped with surgical simulation devices, including advanced computer simulators and models that support training for various procedures such as coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, CRM lead implantation, and left atrial appendage closure. The bus also features high-speed wireless networks to support remote teaching and multi-party video conferencing.
The mobile training bus capitalizes on its mobility and flexibility to overcome the limitations of traditional medical training, bringing professional education directly to medical professionals in remote areas. Since the launch of the first bus, “Tongchuang,” on July 7, 2020, it has traveled over 21,000 kilometers across 12 provinces and 40 cities, conducting more than 70 regional events and engaging over 1,650 healthcare professionals in interactive training sessions. Through hands-on training, free medical consultations, and 5G live-streaming, the bus has brought cutting-edge clinical skills and care practices to grassroots healthcare providers, earning widespread praise.
With the official launch of “Tongxing,” both buses will now work in tandem to create an innovative, three-pronged professional training network combining in-person simulation teaching, online remote training, and mobile bus-based instruction. This integrated approach will enhance grassroots healthcare by offering broader, deeper, and more flexible education, ultimately promoting high-quality healthcare development and improving patient care across China.
Ms. Jun Zhang, President of Boston Scientific Greater China, remarked, “The names of these two buses embody our vision—‘Tongchuang’ and ‘Tongxing’. As long as we stay committed to walking side by side with healthcare professionals and remain dedicated to innovation, the future will be brighter. Together, we move forward.”
HTDK CEO, Teresa Chen, added, “HTDK has always led the industry with high standards, and we are excited to continue our long-term partnership with Boston Scientific to bring standardized, professional medical training resources to more grassroots markets. Both companies share a strong commitment to creating value for society through responsible and innovative practices. Together, HTDK and Boston Scientific are dedicated to integrating continuous innovation into healthcare to safeguard life and health.”
