Recently, HTDK was awarded the “2022 Best Partner” award at Alcon China’s first Partner Ecosystem Conference. This recognition highlights HTDK’s leading and innovative business operations.
After a rigorous evaluation process, HTDK was recognized as an important commercial partner for Alcon, making significant contributions in contract renewals, business transformation, and cost optimization, which have driven Alcon China’s rapid development. On February 27, Ricky, National Manager of Commercial Channel Service at HTDK, was invited to attend the award ceremony at the “Alcon China Partner Ecosystem Conference.”
Medical devices are unique products that impact life safety and are highly regulated, requiring sensitive storage and transportation conditions. The challenges in the supply chain include uneven demand and ensuring timely delivery. Ophthalmic products, in particular, are sold in SKUs to meet various patient conditions, physician preferences, and operational needs, requiring specialized handling, meticulous monitoring, and skilled operation throughout the supply chain.
Ricky mentioned, “Our collaboration with Alcon began in 2006, marking 17 years of partnership. Over these years, we have developed a highly synergistic cooperation model. In this rapidly changing market, we constantly face evolving policies, industry, and market challenges. As a commercial partner, we have always pursued excellence with Alcon, achieving success after success.”
HTDK’s exceptional agile service with VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) forward virtual warehouses has been highly praised by Alcon. By leveraging localized management teams, rigorous VMI consignment management processes, and an intelligent VMI management platform, HTDK addresses the challenges of timely invoicing, shelf-life management, and inventory safety. These combined measures significantly advance product commercialization, particularly for new products, while enhancing customer capital turnover efficiency and increasing channel cooperation.
For the business characteristics of group centralized management and scattered hospital cooperation, HTDK designed a comprehensive business operation management system, serving over 600 private hospitals, including Aier Hospital and Huaxia Hospital. This system links Alcon China’s strategy with the needs of private group strategies and hospital business demands, providing high-quality, full-chain supply services and achieving multi-party business synergy.
HTDK has developed and operated multiple efficiency-oriented systems based on the SAP infrastructure, such as electronic order systems, warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, and sales and distribution systems. These data-driven systems enhance information connectivity, transaction visibility, and provide business intelligence analysis, further improving operational efficiency.
HTDK has built an end-to-end, pure cloud digital platform centered around SAP Hana, fully embracing cloud services with a 100% public cloud IT infrastructure, including Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Huawei Cloud, and various SaaS applications (Microsoft OA365, low-code platforms, SAP RPA). All core business operations (such as distributor management, business team management, warehousing and logistics, import/export) are conducted on this digital platform, achieving business digital twin. Additionally, HTDK has established a data architecture based on Huawei Cloud DGC/DWS, enabling business empowerment through various means such as large screens, mobile terminals, data alerts, and report push.
“By gaining insights into Alcon and channel inventory, our IT team creatively designed a user-friendly ‘Digital Consignment’ VMI solution. Through a mobile app, real-time inventory data from SAP across national distributors and hospitals can be accessed and shared, checking product usage and shelf life, scanning and uploading data to the VMI system. This solution not only enhances inventory visibility, traceability, and accuracy but also enables the team to make informed commercial decisions on supply chain optimization. This ensures we provide high-quality service to hospitals while maximizing Alcon product turnover rates,” said Ricky.
“Innovation isn’t just theoretical. When designing business processes for Alcon, enhancing efficiency, and optimizing costs, our team ensures seamless integration at every stage, customizing unprecedented solutions that are practical and executable, truly empowering business and operations,” stated CEO Teresa. “This award recognizes our past efforts and motivates us for the future. We look forward to and firmly believe in continuing to accompany Alcon through every development stage in China, achieving greatness together.”
HTDK’s recognition as Alcon’s “2022 Best Partner” underscores its commitment to excellence and innovation, driving the high-growth trajectory of ophthalmic products in the Chinese market.
